History

In 2002 a dozen professional Wellfleet shellfisherman (and women) pooled their resources and their accumulated experience and formed the Wellfleet Shellfish Company. The company is owned and operated by these fishermen who work together to bring the very finest and freshest clams and oysters to market. The Company produces cultured hard-shelled clams year round and oysters on a seasonal basis. The customer base is composed of quality oriented national wholesalers, retailers, and the home consumer. Clams and oysters from Wellfleet's nutrient-rich harbor have that distinctive taste that can come only from Wellfleet.
